Milquetoast Prayers

Milquetoast means timid, unassertive, spineless person; someone who is dominated or intimidated. So when you put a milquetoast with prayer that is not good. I have not realized it but I have been praying milquetoast prayers my whole life and now I am getting past that and moving on to praying prayers.

Jesus asked "What do you want me to do for you?" Mark 10:51   We need to answer that question in our prayers and be specific about it. Don't let your relationship with the Lord be obtuse, you become a coward and become distant with him. You need to realize if you are praying to the Lord or praying for those people around you listening to the words you are saying. By self-evaluation you will discover if you are a prayer warrior or a prayer weakling!

When you pray..don't pray for all of the missionaries out there or all of the soldiers out there or all of the homeless. I use to do that until I realized that I was a weakling and praying milquetoast prayers. We need to ask for specific needs, for specific things and name names. As you pray you should be able to picture the things and people in your head. Don't just ask for a house or a car...tell the Lord what size house, how many bedrooms, how many bathrooms, how much land and tell the Lord what kind of car how many doors, what color, what model etc.

Only then will you realize that the answers lie within you where God has put them. Your answers will only be as clear as your prayers!

"Until now, you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete." John 16:24       By getting into His Word and boldly praying according to His Will, in His Name, we will be guaranteeing that our prayers are heard.
